No, they weren't African American. So what? That's not what the name of the group meant in
the first place. An underrated rap group discovered by Public Enemy, Young Black Teenagers'
debut album shows a lot of effort through the MCs' rapping and production by PE's production
team, The Bomb Squad. Overall approach is an alternative hip hop similar to Cypress Hill, De
La Soul, Beastie Boys, House of Pain, Funkdoobiest, etc. This is legitimate hip hop, with
effort put into making quality music. This CD is what hip hop should be today.
