Trumpet, french horn, vibes, cello, bass and drums. What an awesome combination.rI wasn't expecting this to be so chilled, as a lot of it just cruises along sitting on nice grooves, with some solemn 'free' solos thrown in. This definitely leans more towards the Pharoah Sanders/Alice Coltrane side of the avant garde, as opposed to the blowing sessions of Albert Ayler or John Coltrane. The are a few moments of fury though, where the cello steals the show. The bass and cello duo is just fantastic throughout, as is the horn section up front. This release is well worth tracking down for anyone with an interest in 70's avant garde.
