Review Summary: So far, so good!

The crucial thing about Vengeance Falls is where the album offers much enjoyable songs within death and thrash metal taste. It was blended with some minor crossover element in range of heavy metal genre. Occasionally, it sounded a bit melodic death, but it's not enough to put the album in the sub-genre. In my opinion, it's fairly enough to say it as an easy listening metal. Within twenty three minutes long, DeadEdge has packed a solid run of music from start to finish, then we might realize such duration is not enough at all. However, Vengeance Falls is just a mini-album (EP). So like or dislike, I'd like to suppose six tracks so far is more than enough!

Vocally DeadEdge has used both low and middle toned growl typical. The track like Unseasoned Love for instance; sung in low toned growl, little bit vague sometimes due to their fast and loud rhythms. Then we get Standing Alone song where they incorporated both low and middle toned growl, and put in between some heavy scream of vocal along with spoken words as the background. Another tracks also used the same way with those two songs.

Musically, I'd like to say that DeadEdge has invented nothing new. Those guys offer nothing spectacular for both thrash and death metal fans. However still, this Vengeance Falls EP is more than just good enough. It's catchy and all at once tasty! If you liked catchy Carcass's song like Generation Hexed in typical, you might be interested then listen more and more, then you will feel and think..., it's enjoyable! Pertaining to guitar solos, they took the melodious less technical approach, rather than taking the more extreme-aggressive sides of death metal and complex pattern sides of thrash. Then rhythm guitar, overall I could say, it's nicely well-played! Furthermore, bass and drums player also deserve a respectful credit due to their solid performance. Yeah however, all the instrumentalist plus vocalist/growler is a unit, each of them has own important role.

Though the album is quite enjoyable, it is not a masterpiece as well. I feel concerned about the less-intense, especially in guitar solo compositions. Yeah, I'm not begging much, considering this is just debut mini-album (EP). Who knows, this such mysterious band (I didn't get sufficient information about them) is in a plan to work on debut LP material, with more enjoyable metal and a crazy-intense song composition. Hmm, who knows!
