Years later, she continues to write, record and perform her original material throughout NYC’s various venues, where she and her band play sets ranging from blues to folk to alternative. Alisa’s contemporaries include Norah Jones, Sara Bareilles, Rachael Yamagata, Tori Amos, Brandi Carlile, Amy Winehouse, Adele, Duffy, Missy Higgins, Ingrid Michaelson and Lizz Wright. Her male contemporaries include John Mayer, Amos Lee, Michael Buble and Joshua Radin. Alisa was recently named “Siren of the Week” by Hearst Corp’s UGO.com. Her song “Run Run Run” was featured on Tumblr.com’s homepage, called RADAR, and was also featured as the “Song of the Day” on the FM102x podcast on iTunes. Alisa’s songs (“Run Run Run,” “Wish,” and “Why Don’t You Understand”) from her album, “Little Stories, EP”, were arranged by NYC producer Mark Turrigiano, who also produced Ingrid Michaelson’s hit album “Girls and Boys.” These three songs have been selected by the World Wide Art’s Independent Coffee Network, and have been featured on flat-screen monitors inside independent coffee shops across the US since January 2009. « hide
