Altered States is a Japanese avant-garde band that have been active since its formation in 1990. A self-described "improvband", the group currently has a vast international underground following for their dark and twisted blend of jazz, hardcore punkand progressive/avant-garde rock. The three members of Altered States also have ties to the notable cult Japanese band GrandZero as well.
