a club at which he worked and shortly thereafter held residencies at the Park Cafe and Dorian Grey in Hessen. He made his first
mark on the techno scene with regular appearances Berlin’s Bunker and the M in Mainz and, by the end of 1994, had signed to
Neuton, where he first met Paul Brtschitsch. Within the next year the two had co-founded Taksi and published its first release,
which was immediately transformed into an anthem by the legendary Sven Väth (Cocoon). By the end of 1996’s Love Parade, both
Brtschitsch and Galluzzi had become household names within the techno community, a development that would only grow with
Galluzzi’s relocation to Berlin later that year.
Upon his move to Berlin Galluzzi was greeted by a residency at the seminal Tresor, while his new booking agency began to provide
him with a steady stream of international booking around the world. In 1999, an underground Berlin club known as Ostgut—the
seeds of what would become Berghain—caught his attention on both musical and ideological levels. He immediately began a regular
series of highly acclaimed gigs at Ostgut and, upon its closure in 2003 and subsequent re-opening as Berghain in 2004, has
maintained both his residency and his reputation as a world-class DJ. His position as one of Berghain’s strongest assets was
cemented in 2005 when he was chosen to mix the first Berghain compilation, a mix CD now viewed as a seminal cultural artifact of
post-millennial techno. Galluzzi continues to play at Berghain and other top-tier venues worldwide on a regular basis. « hide |
