Apostasy are a melodic black/death metal band from Sweden. Formed by Mathias Edin and Håkan Björklund during 2000 as a jam band, they quickly turned two members into six. 2004 and 2005 saw their first full length releases, however it was to be quickly subdued by the death of their lead guitarist Henrik Johansson, who was stabbed to death in his apartment in 2006. Consequently, many members were affected by this event and turned ensewhere. Their latest incarnation as the band claims, has much to look forward to, as well as a busy release schedule, despite their setbacks.
