BERRI TXARRAK was formed in 1994. BERRI TXARRAK was formed in 1994. "Libre (c)" featured a guest appearence by RISE AGAINST singer Tim Mc Ilrath. BERRI TXARRAK love highly emotive and energetic songs with poetic lyrics not refusing to claim against every kind of injustice around and pro freedom of speech and thought.Their album 'JAIO.MUSIKA.HIL' was produced by ED ROSE at his Black Lodge Studios in Kansas. The band did a huge tour all around the world with this album: Japan (where they opened FUJIROCK FESTIVAL), Nicaragua, Mexico, USA, Taiwan... and many European tours, including the supporting one with Rise Against and A Whilhelm Scream in 2006.In late 2007, Berri Txarrak released "ZERTARAKO AMESTU" (Why Dream), a documentary on the band's philosophy, tour-diary and recording process in black and white. The DVD also includes a special live show by the band in Gernika. This documentary won the Best Video of the Year Gaztea Award in 2008 and it was shown at Portobello Independent Film Festival 2008.In 2009, the band recorded "Payola" with Steve Albini, continuing their collaboration with well-known producers. Keeping in the same line, they recorded "Haria" in 2011 with the help of Ross Robinson. « hide |
