June 12, 2012 Black Tar Prophet self released their 1st LP entitled "Note To Nod"(100 cds). Followed by a southern tour. December 2012 Black Tar Prophet teamed up with Atlanta, GA sludge band "Crawl" for a split Cd. Black Tar Prophet contributed 2 songs.

Black Tar Prophet continued to book shows and tour. "Deafen" was released April 21, 2014 in Digipak CD format/ Vinyl. After the release of 'Deafen" Black Tar Prophet
continued touring and writing material. As 2015 approached Black Tar Prophet tracked 4 songs for a split 12' with Pittsburgh's Noise/Metal band "Iron Gavel”.
To be released with Broken Limbs Recordings summer 2015. Followed by a Northeast tour.
Along with writing their 3rd LP for a fall/winter release.
