An Australian progressive rock group that formed in early 1970 by Neale Johns (vocals), John Robinson (guitars), Leith Corbett (bass) and Mike McCormack (drums). However, Corbett and McCormack were soon replaced by Robert Fortesque (bass) and Alexander Kash on drums and subsequently this was the lineup that recorded the album ''At The Mountains of Madness'' through Infinity Records. During the recordings of the album Robinson became close friend with members of another Australian group called Fraternity and gave them ''Seasons of Change'' to release as a single, agreeing with the record company not to release the original Blackfeather version to avoid any competition between the two. Because of the fact that Fraternity's version top the charts, the agreement was soon changed and the original version released as a single reaching #15 nationally, #39 in Sydney and charted for 16 weeks.
Soon after the release of the debut, changes in the lineup started to take place because of internal arguments. The second release followed in 1972 under the name of ''Boppin' the Blues'' but it was recorded from various shows at the Melbourne Town Hall and the Q club. « hide
