Cappella was an electronic project that first formed in 1987 by artist Gianfranco Bortolotti. Originally a solo project of Bortolotti's, the project was
largely on the backburner while his other project, 49ers, garnered international success from 1989 through 1992. In 1993, Bortolotti hired vocalists
Kelly Overett and Rodney Bishop to front his project, and with their help, Cappella managed to score a string of international smash hits from 1993
through 1996. After numerous lineup changes in vocalists and declining sales, however, Bortolotti disbanded Cappella in 1998, after over a decade of
activity. So far, Bortolotti has revived Cappella twice: from 2002 through 2005, and from 2013 through 2015.
