Catapilla was an English progressive rock band active in the late 1960s to early 1970s. They released two albums on the major
record labelVertigo Records. The band was formed in the late 1960s in London, England. By the time of recording, original
vocalist Jo Meek had beenreplaced by her sister Anna Meek. Alongside saxophonist Robert Calvert, the lineup was completed by
drummer Malcolm Frith, bassist DaveTaylor, guitarist Graham Wilson and horn players Hugh Eaglestone and Thierry Rheinardt
winds.

The band was discovered and signed by Patrick Meehan, manager of Black Sabbath. Meehan produced their first, eponymous
album, released onVertigo Records in 1971. They toured following this release and, following the replacement of Eaglestone,
Frith and Rheinardt by Bryan Hanson(drums), Ralph Rolinson (keyboards) and Carl Wassard (bass), they recorded their second
album, Changes, released in 1972 on Vertigo. Thegroup disbanded shortly after.
Calvert went on to play in Gong off-shoots, The Invisible Opera Company Of Tibet and Mother Gong with Daevid Allen and Gilli
