Cirque du Soleil, literally "Circus of the Sun," was founded by French-Canadian Guy Laliberte to entertain and dazzle audiences. Each show is an swirling amalgam of performance, drama, humor, and, above all else, creativity.
Musically, Cirque is made up of several bands- one for each show. Because of the different themes of the shows, the sound of Cirque is in no way broadly definable. Ranging from Varekai's Movimento (A traditional Georgian song) to the pop-operaesque Bello Amore of Zumanity, Cirque covers musical ground in a very noble and beautiful manner.
