D-Nice is an emcee, born and raised in the Bronx, New York City. He first got recognized as a member of the breakthrough hip
hop trio Boogie Down Productions, along with fellow emcee KRS-One and DJ Scott La Rock. Once Scott La Rock was murdered in
August of 1987, the lineup in the group became very clouded, with D-Nice silently departing from the lineup by 1989. During this
time, he embarked on a solo career, most notably by finding Detroit rapper Kid Rock. He has also released two full length albums
since departing Boogie Down Productions in 1989: 1990's "Call Me D-Nice" and 1991's "To tha Rescue", both of which had
mediocre sales.
