first Dark Orange long-play “Oleander” was published.
The time after was filled up with playing live together with bands like Love Like Blood, And Also the Trees, Pink Turns Blue, Cancer
Barrack, Galaxie 500. After a show in Stuttgart with And Also the Trees, both bands were playing some music backstage and soon
the idea of doing a cover-version of Kate Bush’s “The Man With the Child in His Eyes” was born. The song was released on a 3-track
CD, “Sounds of Silence”, also including two cover-versions of this unforgettable Simon & Garfunkel song.
In 1993, the second Dark Orange long-play “The Garden of Poseidon” came into the shops. The following Dark Orange tour ended
with the last concert in June 1993. Long-time bass-player Christof left, and band-members Malte and Dirk P. were changing to
Hamburg band Selig and to Phillip Boa. In 1993, former And Also the Trees-member Marc Tibenham remixed two Dark Orange-
songs, published under the project 24 HOURS featuring a 6-track-MCD with different remixes. Affected by the first Portishead
album, Katrin and Dirk founded novaVENUS, working together with different musicians like Axel and Hauke from Girls Under Glass
or Czech Gregcore. Trip-Hop album Vegaloop came out in 1998. « hide |
