Darkbuster

When it comes to the word "Punk" these days it almost seems like a joke because you are not quite sure if you are actually going to get a "punk" band when you hit play and then something like Darkbuster's "A Weakness For Spirits" finds its way into your hands and restores your faith in the idea of a "punk scene." This album embodies everything that makes the scene I fell in love with so great. The songs are quick and to the point, they are energetic, and I'll be damned there is even the Clash inspired track "Rudy" that throws in some ska/reggae/dub into the mix. Darkbuster got it right with this album and I only hope that today's scene isn't too ignorant to embrace something like this.
