Dr. Alimantado was born James Winston Thompson in Kingston, Jamaica 1952. He is best known for his 1978 album "The Best Dressed Chicken In Town," a compilation of his mid 70's work. His music is reggae dub featuring his singing and DJ'ing. Post 1979 Alimantado has only worked as a producer, but his recordings gained cult status overseas in the UK where punk rockers, most notably Johnny Rotten of The Sex Pistols, have praised his work as capturing the spirit of the punk movement.
