Emina www.emina-rock.com ... powerful, emotionally charged vocals combined with a raw soul-ripping sound ... cutting edge female fronted rock and intense ballads ... Emina was going to be a singer, it was her destination in life and she had always known it since she was a child. Raised in a small town between folk, country music and line dance she chose idols like Bruce Dickinson and David Coverdale; Whitesnake and Black Sabbath were her daily diet, and at the age of 16 she started working in several bands. As soon as school was finished she left home to further her career. Some years of coaching with an opera singer, cooperations with different producers and songwriters, playing lots of gigs with lots of bands followed, and when she won a casting show she found herself in the offices of a big label. She was signed for five years. Several singles, videos and an album were released, earning her local fame and touring with Motörhead, Uriah Heep and The Cult. Essentially being an internationally minded person she moved to Europe after the five years were up, and drew up in Vienna in 2010 with eleven original tracks in her mind. She found a congenial partner in SixtySix Records for the release. A band was formed – from the very beginning there was magic between the four musicians. Mary, a pro drummer was so much taken with Eminas songs that she virtually rediscovered her talent for rock drumming. Andy on bass, formerly a much asked for session musician in Vienna dropped all his current engagements to dedicate himself fully to this new project. He and Steve on guitar had played together earlier, their projects back then had shared the stage with Alanah Myles, Manfred Mann and Uriah Heep. Two months after the forming of the band they played a rock festival and in May 2011 the first four tracks of the new album were released digitally as an EP. Media, radio and fan reactions from all over the world were enthusiastic and showed the band to be on a rocking good way up. What others say Jennifer “The Music Muse” Stoker of Independent Music and Media Emina has powerful, emotionally charged vocals combined with a raw soul-ripping sound. Her voice is husky and strong yet sweet and mournfully tender. Her soulful singing sends chills down your spine and tears to your eyes for you can almost feel her heart being poured out into song, especially in her song "I'm Leaving". Emina showcases best on songs like "Speeding On A Highway" (for all you bikers out there) and "That's Why I'm Screaming" because of her powerful, tight, crisp vocals that create an aura of great intensity, unbelievable excitement and conviction. Emina's music has high-powered rock recording with power ballads mixed in. An edgier collection of songs such as "Bitch" and "Go to Hell " have a harsher, harder edge (almost a Ann Wilson-like vocal feel) to them and show Emina's strong, opinionated side. This only proves how versatile she can be and her band is definately " ... a monster, when unleashed on stage". So when the daily grind has bled away your passion, Emina's Rock and Roll music is the antidote. The current release: Take #1 Eminas first album can´t deny influences of Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden and Deep Purple, especially tracks like „Speeding On A Highway“, „Go To Hell“ and the almost Metallica –like „That´s Why I´m Screaming“, rejuvenated by Eminas fresh voice and the not so retro sound. „Action Girl“, „I Am The Future“ and the groovy „Bitch“ are modern melodic rocksongs, reminiscent of Foo Fighters or Mr. Big with just a touch of mainstream radio to them. „I´m Leaving“, „Carry Me“ and “Don´t Need Words” prove Emina´s mastery of emotional and intense ballads. Tracklisting: 1. Speeding On A Highway 2. Action Girl 3. Long Lost Trace 4. I Am The Future 5. Don´t Need Words 6. Bitch 7. I´m Leaving 8. Carry Me 9. True Reason 10. (That´s Why) I´m Screaming 11. Go To Hell « hide
