ETHER AURA are a Detroit-based quintet whose music spans the range from garage rock to
shoegaze; country to goth. The band — singer KATE HINOTE, multi-instrumentalist TONY
HAMERA, drummer WILLIAM KING, bassist BRET HAUPT, and rhythm guitarist ALEX
BONGIORNO — dropped their first full-length CD, CRASH, in 2005, and are set to follow it
with the February 17 release of BEFORE WE COULD SING.

COCTEAU TWINS, CURVE, and early-period LUSH as influences on the ETHER AURA sound,
listeners can expect a few left-turn detours along the way. When the spirit so moves them,
they are more than capable of crafting pure, top-notch pop , and they clearly have a facility
for the well-chosen cover .
