Federale was formed in 2004 by Collin Hegna of The Brian Jonestown Massacre. Their music is generally characterized as Cinematic Western Folk Music in the vein of Ennio Merricone. Members/Contributors include Sebastian Bibb-Barrett of The Builders and the Butchers, Colin Sheridan of The High Violets and Dusty Dybvig of Bark Hide and Horn.
In 2016 the band contributed 3 songs to the soundtrack for A Girl Walks Home Alone At Night which are also featured on their 2012 album, The Blood Flowed Like Wine.
