The solo project of one Chris Mansfield, Fences is a welcome addition of quiet folk to Seattle. While the man can mix a tender whisper with some
urban grit (in this case, tattoos), he is no Elliott Smith rip-off. Mansfield simply has more uplift to his lyricism.
