That same year, following successful tours with the likes of Capdown and Link 80, Five Knuckles second EP, a split with Big D and the Kids Table entitled 'Look What You've Done', was again put out on HHN.
Five Knuckles debut full length appeared in 2001. 'Lost for Words, far from Speechless' contained 14 tracks, some taken from their earlier works but mostly new ones. Following the release came tours with bigger bands such as Anti-Flag, Leftover Crack, and even their own headlining European tour.
2004 saw the release of Five Knuckle's 2nd, and final release. 'Balance' saw a much tighter, thought out release. Having almost completely dropped the ska element of their sound, 'Balance' demonstrated why Five Knuckle were one of the best hardcore bands in the UK. Politically and socially conscious lyrics from Dan's distinctive voice on top of soaring guitars and a super tight rhythm section. It amazes how the album can be so melodic and flow so smoothly, while at the same time be so heavy.
Unfortunately, out of almost no where and on top of all their success, in 2005, Five Knuckle decided to split. Playing their final show to a packed out crowd in their home town, Five Knuckle played their hearts out (as well as most of their back catalogue!) in what was probably one of their best shows ever. « hide |
