Since the band started in 2009, originally by Andy Gilmour (Hundred Reasons) & Guy Davis (Reuben), Freeze the Atlantic have seen three different vocalists and two different bassists. Since the band started in 2009, originally by Andy Gilmour (Hundred Reasons) & Guy Davis (Reuben), Freeze the Atlantic have seen three different vocalists and two different bassists. One would think these changes would destabilise a band’s motivation, but with version 4.0 of the band FTA are exactly where they want to be.
2012’s debut effort ‘Speakeasy’ was an 11 track pop-rock powerhouse, featuring many faces from the band member’s histories; and subsequently its future. It was a statement of intent for Freeze the Atlantic and whilst critically acclaimed, it was a sign that there was so much more to come. Numerous UK & Ireland tours followed, with breakthrough performances at prestigious festivals and plays by Radio 1 & Xfm further developing their sound and growing fanbase.
Now, with renewed vigour, 2014 sees the band release their second, self titled album. Writing a brand new record with a new line-up has brought fresh ideas and new elements to a refreshingly British sound. Heavier, smarter and more accomplished; it encompasses all of this bands writing abilities and represents their yearning for more. « hide |
