Frightwig are an underground punk group from San Francisco, California, that first formed in 1982. Their noisy sound and feminist lyrics were
considered to be extremely influential to the development of the early 90's riot grrrl scene. After releasing only three albums and a few singles,
Frightwig ended up disbanding in 1994. In 2012, after nearly two decades apart, Frightwig reunited with a slightly different lineup, and in 2013,
released the "Hit Return" EP, which was their first original release in over two decades.
