GOLDEN CANNIBAL, an international avant-garde dissonant-grind collaboration featuring Lucas Wyssbrod (Monovoth, Mostro, Hail the Invisibles) and Andrew Notsch (Manipulator, This Is The Last Time, Ex-Sunless) presents its self-titled debut EP. GOLDEN CANNIBAL, an international avant-garde dissonant-grind collaboration featuring Lucas Wyssbrod (Monovoth, Mostro, Hail the Invisibles) and Andrew Notsch (Manipulator, This Is The Last Time, Ex-Sunless) presents its self-titled debut EP. One continuous arrangement presented via six tracks takes us on a journey through a bizarre musical adventure in which Wyssbrod enlists his obscure death-tinged 7-string guitar and bass performances. Notsch provides drum programming and vocals, which range from brutal beatdown parts all the way to bizarre robotic alien sounds. Notsch also brings further cohesion and interest to the album with various synth sounds that act as both lead instruments and transitionary devices and keep you guessing what is coming around the corner next.
The album's lyrical concept tells the tale of a not-too-distant future where mankind finally harnesses the true abilities of nuclear energy systems and creates robotic means of solving our most existential threats. The sentience of these metallic creatures allows their realization that the only way to save the earth from manmade global warming is to remove the cancer that is the human race after countless attempts to coexist and work in harmony fail.
Crisp and dynamic production and mastering was handled by Sebastián Barrionuevo at FDM Estudio in Buenos Aires.
