Formed in 1999 Gotan Project is a Paris based group consisting of, Philippe Cohen Sola of France, Eduardo Makaroff of Argentina, and Swiss-born Christoph H. Müller. The music of Gotan Project takes tango and progresses the sound by adding in elements of electronica and jazz. The name of the group was derived from reversing the syllables of tango to form gotan, the group had settled on that name for their project.In 2001 their debut album, Gotan Project released their first full-length album, La Revancha Del Tango, which had now sold more than a million copies worldwide. Five years later Gotan Project released their second formal album titled Lunático, which has made a few appearances on the BillBoard charts.
