“IOEarth” came into being late in 2007 when Dave Cureton and Adam Gough decided to start work on a new album that would break conventions and defy genres. They became friends in the early '90s whilst still at school and wrote their first pieces of music together before they were 12.
Over the years, they worked on many projects with others, but their ultimate goal was to always produce something together. Something that was fresh and new. Something that would challenge the ears, hearts and minds of its listeners. The project solidified in 2008 as the three-movement work, “IOEarth”.
Adam and Dave began to focus on blending genres. Ambient, Rock, Dance, Classical, Atmospheric, Jazz … they would take slices of styles rarely found together and blend them seamlessly to create something new and at times something unusual.
At the beginning of 2009, they released “IOEarth” independently through their website. Within weeks, the album had received rave reviews from many websites and online radio personalities. Despite the wide range of genres that make up the “IOEarth” sound, the album was quickly embraced by the Progressive Rock community and gained substantial airplay on many radio stations throughout 2009.
In January 2010, “IOEarth” were named the 'Artist of the Month' on the Melodic Revolution Records website and are the recipients of a nomination for the Best Debut Album in the 2009 Prog Awards.
