Ice Fortress formed in august 2004 when Peyton and Ben began writing songs. They soon found a bassist, James Cho aka Cho and a vocalist Jon Richard aka Little Metal Jon. After a lack of effort toward to band james was asked to leave the band. Soon after, Jonathan Fay joined the band as a second guitarist, after several day of practice with John they came to the conclusion that Johns style of playing did not fit the band (no that does not mean he sucked) up until this point the bands music was melodic death metal (influences: The Black Dahlia Murder, Cattle Decapitation, Decrepit Birth, Cephali ...read more

Soon after, Jonathan Fay joined the band as a second guitarist, after several day of practice with John they came to the conclusion that Johns style of playing did not fit the band (no that does not mean he sucked) up until this point the bands music was melodic death metal (influences: The Black Dahlia Murder, Cattle Decapitation, Decrepit Birth, Cephalic Carnage etc.) Then we asked Mike Beverly to join the band he was a good guitarist but didn't have the Death metal style we were looking for, so after Mike didn't show up for several practices Mike left the band. At this point we weren't sure if we were ever going to find another guitarist. Then Peyton asked Billy Price if he wanted to jam with the band. Billy said yes and along with with him he brought bassist Taylor Keeding. Billy liked the music and decided to join the band, however Taylor did not want to join the band. After asking several times we finally gave up, and Peyton called up an old friend and fellow metal head Tom Mason. Tom liked the music as well and joined the band. Later on Little Metal Jon began missing practices. We later found out he was consumed by a human eating venus flytrap. From there on Peyton became the singer as well as guitar player. Ice Fortress has had many different names but some how everyone seemed to agree on Ice Fortress except for Peyton, he wanted the the band name to be « hide |
