Insane Poetry was one of the first horrorcore groups, initially formed in 1988 by Cyco after he gained residency as a disc jockeyat a LosAngeles radio station. With members DJ Streek and Shakespear the One-Man Riot, Insane Poetry released their debutsingle, "Twelve Strokes Till Midnight", in 1988. After replacing Shakespear with Em-Dee, Insane Poetry were signed to NastymixRecords through an association with rapper Rodney O, and released their debut album, "Grim Reality", in 1992. Due to disagreements over promotion and support, however, InsanePoetry decided to to leave the label, and in 1998, Cyco appeared on Vanilla Ice's "Hard to Swallow" album, followed bycollaborations with M-Boogie, Dilated Peoples and DJ Revolution. In 2003, Cyco, the only remaining member of Insane Poetry,which still appears to be the lineup today.
