Jess By The Lake is a side project of Jasmin "Jess" Saarela best known as the frontwoman of Finnish occult/psychedelic rock band Jess and the Ancient Ones. As Jess described the idea of her solo album, the project initially started with Timo from Jess and the Ancient Ones, but eventually ended with Jess gathering people from her school.
