During 2004, prolific ex-RHCP guitarist John Frusciante recruited multi-instrumentalist Josh Klinghoffer to play on his many solo projects. The pair released albums under several names, including 'John Frusciante' and 'Ataxia'. The one record released under both their names, A Sphere in the Heart of Silence is far more experimental than their other works, with heavy electronic influences. The pair continued to work together until 2009, when Klinghoffer replaced Frusciante in the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Frusciante continues to work on his solo career, while Klinghoffer splits his time between RHCP and fronting his own band Dot Hacker. At this time, it is uncertain whether these two uniquely talented musicians will again join forces.
