While well renowned for her Grammy winning performances in The Civil Wars, Joy Williams began as a Christian Pop singer in 2001.
Despite releasing three faith-centered LPs in 2001, 2002 and 2005, Williams parted from religious themes in several ensuing EPs until 2010,
before pairing with John Paul White to form The Civil Wars.
In 2015, following the separation of The Civil Wars, Williams has released three singles: What a Good Woman Does, Until the Levee, Woman
(Oh Mama) and taken a prominent role in contemporary feminism.
