Off Course truly dominate the Japanese mainstream. In 1985, after years of being on-and-off, Kaguyahime finally decided to pull
the plug, and the members all went on to solo careers, with frontman Kosetsu Minami arguably garnering the biggest success. In
1999, after over a decade apart, Kaguyahime was suddenly reignited, and the group released "Seishun no Itami" and "Best
Dreamin'", their first single and album release since 1984. "Best Dreamin'" was also Kaguyahime's first compilation album release
as well, but sales were lackluster to say the least, and the group then disbanded once more in 2001. Kaguyahime was then
revived once more from 2005 until 2006. Despite their seemingly not-warm return, Kaguyahime are still considered to be one of
Japan's biggest groundbreaking bands in the field of folk music, and their legacy remains to be quite significant to this day. « hide |
