Kara's Flowers

Formed in 1992, Kara's Flowers were the original incarnation of Maroon 5 before changing their name in 2001 (along with gaining a new guitarist with James Valentine). Unlike Maroon 5's signature fusion of pop, rock, and soul music, Kara's Flowers' first album "We Like Digging?"presented a much heavier sound with elements of alternative metal and grunge reflective of the mid-90s. However, their second and final release "The Fourth World" was much more polished, abandoning grunge for power pop and pop punk music. This release would prove to be the band's stylistic transition from an underground alternative rock act to the stadium-filling pop rock band Maroon 5 are known as today.
