Kirinji are an influential indie pop band from Japan. Formed in 1996 by brothers Takaki Horigome and Yasuyuki Horigome, Kirinjihas been on a steady
increase in mainstream recognition, with their 2010 album "Buoyancy" reaching number 12 on theJapanese Oricon charts, becoming their highest
ranking release to date. In 2013, Yasuyuki Horigome shockingly left, and Takakithen morphed Kirinji into a full-fledged band. Nevertheless, Kirinji are
still known for being one of the most successful indie popbands to break the Japanese mainstream within the last 20 years.
