In 1995, Kolrassa Krokrioandi made their overseas debut with the release of the compilation album “Stranger Tales”, which consisted of songs the band did re-recorded in English.
The compilation was released as Bellatrix, and following the release of one more album as Kolrassa Krokrioandi, 1996’s “Kold Eru Kvennarao”, the band changed their name to Bellatrix for good. As Bellatrix, the group made their sound more accessible and far less experimental, had fully English lyrics and released a total of a few singles, one EP and one full length album, 2000’s “It’s All True”, which contained the single “Jediwannabe”, which proved to be a slight hit in the UK. In 2001, Bellatrix split, although they are known to have occasional reunions in Iceland. « hide |
