Komatose is an influential horrorcore artist based in Omaha, NE. He's been in numerous groups since the late 1990s including Asylum, Kryptik, Oktoberz Children, Among The Dead, and The Principles. He also owns the independent record label Cutthroat Productions. Komatose avoids the aggressive style many of his horrorcore peers opt for and instead uses a measured and ominous approach, to better emphasize his lyrical content. Komatose's lyrics rely heavily on disturbing storytelling and contain themes of alienation, obsession, hopelessness, pessimism, serial murder, and the occult. Komatose's approach, both in terms of his voice and the production on his albums, is heavily influenced by classic hip-hop, particularly the boom bap sound.
