L7 was an all-girl grunge band from Los Angeles, active from 1985 to 2000. The group produced six albums, as well as a live
album.
The band's name derives from a 1950s slang phrase for "square", rather than being a reference to a sexual position. It was L7's
third album, "Bricks are Heavy" (1992), that catapulted the group into the limelight led by their hit single, "Pretend that we're
Dead", riding the wave of grunge euphoria at the time.
