Lakes started as a solo project in late 2004 when I was still playing guitar with mxpx and we were originally called “Eager Seas” but
later that year changed the name to Lakes. It was me (Seth Roberts) and Jason Massey and we recorded the first album titled
“Eager Seas” with the help of our friends (Lane Biermann, Mike Herrera, Zack Hodges, and Yuri Ruley). One thing lead to the other,
and we ended up in a situation with our record label and had to put the album out under my old band’s name “Watashi Wa”. We

later that year changed the name to Lakes. It was me (Seth Roberts) and Jason Massey and we recorded the first album titled
“Eager Seas” with the help of our friends (Lane Biermann, Mike Herrera, Zack Hodges, and Yuri Ruley). One thing lead to the other,
and we ended up in a situation with our record label and had to put the album out under my old band’s name “Watashi Wa”. We
then signed with a long beach based record label The Militia Group and put out what would be officially the first Lakes release titled
“Photographs EP” in 2005.
We evolved into a full band during the process of writing and recording Our 2nd full length album. Back then it was, Jeremy, Jacob,
Matt, Justin, Kevin (and Jason and Joey helping out long distance). Once the album was complete and we released it in 2010, we
really had come into something special, and that was when we really became a band.
Through touring and playing that year it was like a family formed. That family is now Jacob Wick on guitar, Aaron Wick on drums,
Jeremy Wells on bass, Matt Covington on Keys, and me. We aren’t trying to “make it big”, we just love making music together about
the things that go on in our simple lives and we will do it for a long time. We hope we can share it all with you…
