Lard was founded in 1989 as a side project of former Dead Kennedys frontman, Jello Biafra, and members of the legendary industrial band, Ministry. Lard's lyrics carried the political edge of Biafra plus the industrial sound of Ministry to form a blend of hardcore punk and indsturial metal. The band never officially toured and only played a few live shows billed as Lard. Biafra did accompany Ministry on their 1988, 1989, and 1990 tours and was able to play a few Lard songs. Because all parties are busy with their own projects, future Lard live shows and albums are unlikely.
