SAN ANTONIO – Heavy indie rockers Ledaswan are celebrating the start of 2011 with the release of a new music video Faulkner, and their new album NUM83R5 (Numbers).
The video was produced by some of the members of Ledaswan. It was then brought to life by local directors/filmmakers Ismael Rodriguez, and Doc Evans of Celtic Dreams Studios. Faulkner features different sites from the band’s hometown of San Antonio, TX, and makes a playful reference to the American writer William Faulkner.
NUM83R5 is a diverse collection of guitar-driven tracks, featuring atmospheric vocal melodies and subtle swirling filter effects. Recorded over a span of two years, and mixed by Matt Brown of Trespassers William, the album includes songs written by Erica Monzon and band mates Jaime and David Monzon, and is the first album to feature new full-time bassist Lalo Rodriguez. Erica is still the lyrical poet, however, brothers Jaime and David Monzon helped to produce some tracks such as the opening dance-driven single Faulkner that initially began as a mellow-tempo acoustic song. Some of the songs were written on acoustic guitar and then reconstructed once brought to the rest of the band.
Ledaswan plans to release a video for each of the songs on the new album. NUM83R5 Vol. 2 another collection of guitar-powered ambient rock in the spring of 2011. The band toured the West Coast and Texas that included dates with Girl in a Coma and Miss Derringer. Tour dates are planned for the support of the albums.
