Born in Arica, a city in the northernmost extreme of Chile and frontier with Perú and Bolivia, Manuel García is a renowed singer-songwriter of folk, alternative rock and trova. He was the founder of the Chilean folk group Mecánica Popular, and since 2005 he's worked on his solo career. He has received multiple Chilean awards for his contributions to folkloric music, and he has graduated from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile as a professional guitar performer.
