Nujabes, a Japanese hip hop producer in the late 1990s, took a chance with his future when he opened an independent
record label under the name of Hydeout Productions in 1998. By 2001, Hydeout Productions managed to create their 1st
recording of the Japanese underground hip-hop music scene under their first artist, Monorisick aka DJ Deckstream.
Hydrothermal Formation was Monorisick's only music compilation for Hydeout Productions. Japanese hip-hop in the late
90s began to incorporate jazz influences into their sound, giving this form of hip-hop music an ambient sound quality.
