Negativa was formed by ex-Gorguts guitarist Steeve Hurdle, as an experimental death metal project. Following the demise of Gorguts, vocalist/guitarist Luc Lemay joined, and drummer Etienne Gallo and bassist Miguel Valade were added, culminating in the release of their self-titled EP/MCD in 2006. Recently, female vocalist Roxanne Constantin has been added to the band, to allow them to explore more diverse genres, moods and atmospheres. Negativa only ever released their Self-Titled 3-Song EP and in 2007, guitarist Steeve Hurdle was quoted as saying "We have nearly 75 minutes of new music ready for the album and we're very anxious to share it with all of you. We'd like to warn you that our new songs are nothing like what you heard on the MCD; they're more ambient and emotional." However, the album was never, and may never, be released as guitarist Steeve Hurdle died on May 20th, 2012 from complications following surgery. « hide |
