Tanya Pointer, better known as Nonchalant, was a hip hop artist from Washington, D.C. She had some success in the mid 1990’s, most specifically with her 1996 single “5 O’clock”, which quickly became certified gold. Despite its success, the album that followed, “Until the Day”, failed to live up to the hype and only reached number 94 on the Billboard charts. In 1998, it was reported that Nonchalant was working on a second album, although nothing has been heard of regarding the album since 2000, and she then largely disappeared from the rap circuit by 2001. In 2013, Nonchalant returned as a DJ, although she has yet to return to rapping.
