• The Philharmonia Orchestra is London-based orchestra formed in 1945 by producer Walter Legge. They are known for their extensive
touringschedule, lucrative guest spots, as well as their soundtracks for films such as The Red Violin, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Fury, Thor: The
DarkWorld, Iron Man 3 and The Lady in The Van among others. Their total output is in excess of 1000 individual recordings.
The orchestra collaborated with the Lucerne Festival Choir (German: Festwochenchor) only once, under the direction of the late, great
WilhelmFurtwängler in 1954.
