Plasmatics were a legendary hard rock band from NYC. First formed in 1977, the group soon garnered a large cult following for their outlandish live shows and costumes and for their rowdy punk-tinged sound. Plasmatics went on a hiatus in 1983, but returned in 1986 and released their fourth album, āMaggots: The Recordā, in February of 1987 under the name of Wendy O. Williams and Plasmatics. Plasmatics would go on to tour for a bit more but eventually split in 1988.
