Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock was a hip hop duo from NYC that first formed in 1985. They achieved great success in the late 1980's, specifically with their
1988 single "It Takes Two", which reached number 36 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 24 on the UK singles chart. It was later certified platinum
in the US in 1989. The duo ended up disbanding in 1989 due to numerous internal issues, with MC Rob Base releasing a solo album later in 1989. In
1993, Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock reunited once more, and released another album and a few more singles until splitting once more in 2002. The duo
would go on to have occasional reunion shows throughout the years until the sudden death of DJ E-Z Rock in 2015 from diabetic issues. He was only
46 years old.
