Savannah

In the early hours of June 13th, 2002, Canadian hardcore band Compromise was on their way from Birmingham, Alabama to Savannah, Georgia when tragedy struck. Guitarists Jordan Wodehouse and Daniel Langlois were killed when the tour van was rear ended by a drunk driver. Drummer Ryan "Junior" Kittlitz was one of the survivors. Guitarists Jordan Wodehouse and Daniel Langlois were killed when the tour van was rear ended by a drunk driver. Drummer Ryan "Junior" Kittlitz was one of the survivors. In December of 2002, Savannah began their existence as the brainchild of Junior.All of the members have strong roots in the Canadian hardcore and metal scenes. Junior provided the beats for Canadian hardcore legends Compromise, as well as a brief stint in Misery Signals. Guitarist Cam Kroetsch shares time currently between Savannah, [The Almighty Punchdrunk] (with Gene Hoglan of Strapping Young Lad), Tenet (with SYL members, on Century Media) & Vancouver metal band Nihilate. Vocalist Robin "Pudge" Daley and bassist Don Palmer were originally from Edmonton hardcore band Stronger Than Blood, and longtime friend of the group & former band mate of Cam's, guitarist Sean Colig, formally of Vancouver's skate-punk veterans "SideSixtySeven" joined the group after original guitarist Rico Forester departed in September 2006.Touring constantly throughout Canada and the US for over 5 years has rewarded them with tours with bands like Hatebreed, Misery Signals, Shai Hulud, The Human Abstract, Sworn Enemy, 3 Inches of Blood, Shattered Realm, Figure Four, Death By Stereo, Death Angel and Strapping Young Lad.In the summer of 2004, the release "Hate Found, Love Lost", their 3rd demo EP, secured the legendary talent of Devin Townsend, whose producer portfolio includes Lamb of God, GWAR, Misery Signals, Soilwork and Darkest Hour. In 2006, they recorded their first full length "The Road To..." again with Devin behind the wheel. With that, Savannah caught the interest of Vancouver-based record label Distort Entertainment and secured them a digital licensing deal. On October 30th, 2007, the debut album "The Road To..." was released worldwide on Itunes. « hide
