Shenandoah Davis

"Growing up studying classical piano, Shenandoah Davis cites influences such as Claude Debussy and Irving Berlin right alongside her more contemporary counterparts such as Kate Bush, Owen Pallett, and Van Dyke Parks. Her songs have been branded everything from parlour music to new folk to orchestral pop. Shenandoah has taken her music all over the country, as well as to Japan, the UK, Germany, Portugal and Italy. Her songs have been branded everything from parlour music to new folk to orchestral pop. Shenandoah has taken her music all over the country, as well as to Japan, the UK, Germany, Portugal and Italy. As a musician in Seattle, she has collaborated with the Portland Cello Project, the Seattle Rock Orchestra, Grand Hallway, and the Seattle International Dance Festival. She has participated in artist residencies in Fairfield, Iowa and at the Art Monastery in Umbria, Italy, and is currently writing a follow-up record to 2011's 'The Company We Keep'. She is also a contributing writer for Pyragraph, keyboardist for Sean Nelson, and heading out on tour this December with poet Andrea Gibson.
